Carburizer Types and Introduction

Coal Carbon Raiser

Calcined Coal Carburizer is a product obtained by calcination of low-ash, low-sulfur refined anthracite in a calciner at a high temperature of about 1250 ° C. The main production sites are in Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. Generally, the carbon content is 90-93%, and it is mainly used in steelmaking enterprises, and some foundries use it in gray cast iron. Due to its compact carbon molecular structure, it absorbs heat slowly and takes a long time during application.

Pitch coke recarburizer is a by-product of coal tar hydrogenation to produce oil, is a high-carbon, low-sulfur, low-nitrogen recarburizer extracted from tar. The carbon content is between 96-99.5%, its volatile matter is low, the structure is dense, the mechanical strength and wear resistance of the particles are relatively high, and it is easy to graphitize.

Metallurgical coke recarburizer is coking coal firing is the large coke usually used in cupolas. In addition to smelting, it is also used for recarburization of metal charge.

Petroleum Coke Carnon Raiser

Calcined coke recarburizer is a product that uses low-sulfur petroleum coke as a raw material and undergoes high-temperature treatment at 1300-1500 degrees in a calciner to remove moisture, volatile matter and impurities. Its fixed carbon content is generally stable at about 98.5%, and its sulfur content is mostly less than 0.5% or 1%. Its density is compact, it is not easy to decompose, and it takes a medium time to use.

Petroleum coke is a graphitized product produced in a graphitized smelting furnace at a high temperature of 3000 degrees, which has the advantages of fast absorption, high carbon content and low sulfur content. Its carbon content is 98-99%, and the sulfur content index is less than 0.05% or 0.03%. The production areas are concentrated in Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, and Sichuan. Another way comes from the cutting waste of graphite electrodes. Since the graphite electrode itself has been graphitized, its waste can also be used as a recarburizer for steel mills.

Semi-graphitized petroleum coke recarburizer: the graphitization temperature is not as high as that of graphitized recarburizers, the carbon content is generally greater than 99.5, and the sulfur content is higher than that of graphitized recarburizers, below 0.3%.

Graphite Carnon Raiser

Amorphous graphite recarburizer: It is the application of amorphous graphite in steel smelting or casting carburization. Usually, the carbon content is 75-80%. It can be purified to increase the carbon content of the product.

Natural graphite recarburizer: mainly flake graphite, carbon content ranging from 65-99%, low stability, generally used in steelmaking plants.

Synthetic recarburizer use leftover materials such as graphite powder, coke powder, petroleum coke, etc., add different binders and use machines to press and shape, and it is in the form of stick particles. The carbon content is generally between 93-97%, and the sulfur content is extremely unstable, generally between 0.09-0.7.
